STPM Results

My kid got his STPM results this afternoon. I was happy for him for what he has achived but I think he felt it was not up to his expectations. I hope he gets to pursue his career choice and make good out of it. He has worked hard for it and I am proud of it.

I am also anxiously waiting for the SPM results of my younger kid. I also hope she gets to make up her mind on where to go for her further studies. I have a feeling that she is still weighing her options over several choices, though she has set her thoughts of studying in one of the colonial and heritage buildings that she has so far identified. Maybe when I retire, I will join her to do a course on anthropology and find out where has my tail gone to!!!

STPM and SPM Results!!

It is the time again and my kids exam results will be known in the very near future. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope that they will  achieve the results that they desire.

I know that they have worked hard for it and I have no complaints over their preparation.

I wish them well and success in their future studies.

Chinese New Year in the Year of the Tiger

Today is the 10th day of the Chinese New Year in which we normally celebrate for 15 days. The CNY was the time to give us the decent break after all the stressful moments that we have to go through to earn our monthly take at the end of each month.

As usual, me and my brothers together with the family members goes back to my mom's house to celebrate the CNY. This year was especially hot and it was noted that this was one of the hottest period during the last few decades. This must be our undoing in not looking after our environment and many have not given serious thoughts to the effects of global climatic change. The regularity in which natural disasters are occuring is really a cause for concern.

I started with a yum cha with my old pal, Fatty Jean, on the eve of CNY. The last time we met was several months ago and our normal conversations would revolve around what's happening to out long lost friends and of course we also touch on national policies and politics. We are reaching retirement age and Fatty Jean told me that he would be retiring in May this year. I ask him what he is going to do and he told me that he is still looking at his options.

I dont know whether we should be looking towards our retirement or we should continue working. In the good old days, it is everybody's wish to look towards their retirement but things seems to change nowadays and maybe this could be due to the escalating costs of education for children and our "maintenance costs" in getting old.

On the first day of the CNY, we start by wishing each and everyone of us Happy & Prosperous New Year and to give ang pows to the young ones. We will have vegetarian food for our breakfast and also for lunch. In the evening we had our dinner at the hotel and this year's food was not quite up to expectation compared with the previous year but it was still a decent meal.

The second day was the "open new year" and thereafter, my family and I went to my father-in-law house to extend our well wishes. My brother in law family was there as well as my wife's aunty who also drop by with their families. My children's ang pows should be more this year as we met more relatives this year.

We went back to our house to have a look. I was worried over the increasing crime rates and scared that someone would have broken into our house and stole some of our valuables. We took a rest, took a bath and later returned to my mom's house.

On the second and third days of the CNY, some of our close relatives and friends came to pay us a visit and exchange greetings and ang pows.

We went back to our house on the third day of the CNY as my kid is starting work the next day and I would also have to open office to reign in the auspicious time and day for the CNY.

Perakians - We should stand Proud!!

The Federal Court has made a decision on the status of the Perak MB and though it was shocking with a unanimous decision, the people of Perak should stand tall and proud that despite this ruling, it was not what we wanted and we despise such underhand tactics of the ruling gomen.

This decision by the Federal Court strenghthens the believe by the rakyat that the judiciary is beyond redemption and is strictly bias towards the ruling gomen. God save Malaysia!

By pandering to the gomen, the judiciary has sent the wrong message to would be foreign investors that the rule of law is a "no, no" if you are taking on the gomen on any legal issues.

My Wife's Curry Chicken

Yesterday, while back home for lunch, my wife cooked one of our favourites, Curry Chicken. The last one was quite some time back and we appreciate her time to cook this meal as she is a "very busy" woman. She hardly sits during the day as there are so much things to do during the day, washing clothes, drying and ironing clothes, wash and get ready the vegetables and the meat, mop the floor, collect the rubbish, grab the latest investment news in the market, plan what to eat for dinner and make sure we like the dishes that she cooked.

I am thinking of what to buy her for the Chinese New Year as she does not spend much of my monies to show my love and appreciation to her for her hard work in taking care of all of us.

Any suggestions?

Terrible Assholes

I thought only politicians talk nonsense but it's really sickening to have high level aides to PM and Ministers spewing hatred and provoking the rakyat with seditious comments. The majority of us are peace loving people and what we look forward to is to lead a decent life and provide a resonable standard of education to our children. We have been in co-existence for more than 50 years and why do we have to resort to all kinds of provocation to cause anarchy in the country that we loved.

Fuxxk these assholes!!
