Roger Federer: You better win the Aussie Open

The tennis season has begun and my younger kid is pining for Roger Federer to continuing winning in the Grand Slam events. I mean he is playing as well as he could but sometimes when age catches up, your recovery would be slower and this would affect you in the later stages of a tournament and if you were push to five setters in your previous matches, your winning momentum may be slightly affected. I personally think that he has achieved so much in his tennis career though Leyton Hewitt, who is about same age as him, reached the No. 1 status much faster than Federer. After reaching the top, Federer has maintained his dominance at the top and has consistently delivered winning matches so far. Even with Nadal coming close to toppling him over the last 2 years, he has maintained his consistency and is now ranked higher than Nadal.

You have to admire Federer's guts, tenacity and determination. He will never relax in a competitive match until he has truly beaten you.

Its also good to know that his 2 twin little girls are travelling with him and he is so happy talking about the little girls and his adoration for the girls and of course his wife.

This guy has been playing without a coach ( I dont see a coach giving him instructions.)

I dont know who my kid will support if Federer were to play Murray in the final. But I think she will still go for Federer as Murray is still young and will have more chances in the future.

Hooray! MU maintains its dominance over Mancity

The second leg of the match between Manchester United and Manchester City was played early this morning and what a feeling I got when Eurosport News shows that MU had beaten them. Not to say that MU cannot be beaten but after what happen in the 1st leg and the taunting from Carlos Tevez, I dont like to see MU lose. They are a weaker team without Ronaldo but the brilliance of Rooney and his non-stop running will make-up for the loss of Ronaldo. I hope that they would be able to unearth a "good striker" to partner Rooney soon so that the forward line would be more lethal and the scoring more prolific. Berbatov is brillant at times but his scoring rate is not up to expectations. No doubt that Berbatov has worked so much more harder this season compared with the previous season.

I cant understand why Ferguson doesnt play Park Ji Sung more often. He is a nippy striker and has contributed much in the previous seasons and can be reliably counted on. Ferguson has extended his contract and given him a pay rise and I cant understand why he is not playing regularly. The same goes for Macheda who has scored some important goals last season. Maybe Ferguson will unleash them towards the tail end of the season. What a wily fox!

House Renovations

We have been thinking of doing some renovations to the house but keep postponing it for quite some time. Last year we did painted the sliding auto gate and other than that not much was done.

The badly damaged floor tiles on the porch  was an eye sore and with 2 grown up kids, we really do not want their friends come calling and notice the mess created out of it. One other reason was that it was difficult to get Contractor Lee to come when there was not much work to be done. The bathroom doors were also giving way, so it was no choice but to get some renovations done. My other half tried to call the contractor but he would not normally pick up the phone knowing how difficult it would be to deal with a woman. So I called him and to my surprise, he pick up the phone and not only that, he promise to come the next day and wanted to start working without even haggling over the price of the renovations. As we have a prior engagement in KL over the weekend, we asked him to come the following Monday. He came on the Monday and started working and one thing leads to another. We started asking him to do some painting on the walls, railings and thereafter also painted the hall, ceiling  and others except the bedrooms. Sure, it was tough going with all the shifting of the furniture and others. Credit  should be given to my other half and the younger kid for their untiring efforts in getting things done. Dear, I really appreciate your work. Today the contractor came and install the 2 bathroom doors and tomorrow will apply the finishing touches. Though some monies were spent, it was a very fulfilling investment.

Working Life - Is it a Dog's Life?

My kid started working last week and he was so enthusiastic and happy that finally he got to work in a place that he wanted to be. There was so much to tell over the first few days that he can hardly catch his breath! After the first few days, reality sets in and he found out that those other friends who are working there as well managed to get the department that they wanted to be placed in and while he has to be given specific duties by the HR Manager on his daily duties.

Well, its good for him to know that influence do play a part in your everyday life and whom you know is also equally important in certain matters and it does make a difference in very competitive situations. I am happy for him for the "working" atmosphere that he would get from this experience and he would be so much more street-smart in the future.

You know what. Even when he is now working he is still asking for allowance for his breakfast monies! At the rate he is spending, I dont think there would be much left when he receives his pay check. Anyway, I am happy for him and for his enthusiasm shown in his work and I sincerely hope he gets the results that he wanted so as to further his career in his chosen field.

After work, when he comes home, he would rant that it was a tough day and that he was very tired and needs to take a nap to recharge and that other people should understand his feelings about how tough was his work.

Just imagine, I have been working for more than 30 years and I dont have that kind of luxury of time that he is having now. He has been at his job for hardly 2 weeks! I dont know whether he knows how tough I have gone through; screwed upside down, snaked, sucked, cheated, conned, bashed, cried, broke, etc, etc.

GOD - There is only one!

No matter who you are or what religion you come from, there is only one God.

God is all powerful. What languages you speak to him, he would come back to you in the same language that will make you understand.

I was informed that in the holy Koran, it was stated that the Muslims pray to the same God as the Jews and the Christians!

And in Saudi Arabia, the Christians have been using "Allah" for a couple of hundred years before even Islam started!

We dont own God. God Almighty guide us.

Malaysian Association of Cows and Cakes- (MACC)

The latest target of the MACC investigation is into the purchase of 6 cakes of 10kg each costing a total of RM3,900.

From the above, one would know that 1kg is about RM65. You wont get anything cheaper from Secret Recipe.

WTF are there going to investigate -possibly abuse of power?

Fxxxck them.

Something Wrong with our Mata-Mata

Year 2010 must be something very wrong with our men in uniform.

Some of the headlines splash across the media:-

" Police intimidated by a state assemblyman"

" Clerk allegedly raped police inspector"

Looks like if you walk past or stare or smile at the men or women in uniform, you might be hauled up for alleged offences.

Wrong Priorities- My Boss!!!!!

I should not be sitting in the office keeping track of workflow and seeing to the custody of important files and assets.
All these years, my priorities had been misplaced.
I should be eating and drinking and socialising with the elites and the rich and powerful to bring in more business to the Company.
You see what I mean.
THE SECURITY OF ASSETS AND IMPORTANT ITEMS SHOULD BE LEFT TO THE RANK AND FILE.

Perak Food Guide

Finally, I managed to lay my hands on the book, Perak Food Guide, courtesy of Flavours magazine. Its not that I cannot get the book earlier- its just that I do not want to pay for it knowing that I would be able to get it FREE later.

It has become handy to us - we usually take it out with us when we go for breakfast, lunch or dinner to try what we did not know earlier.

Here we are - Year 2010

The Year 2010 would hopefully be a recovery year for those who were affected by the global economic recession for the past 2 years or so. We do wish that China would lead us out of this recession and hopefully the US wouldn't put in more artificial trade restrictions as they have always been the champions of free trade in the past.

As for myself, I pray for peace and good health and a reduction in the "siew yan" in the coming year.
