Working Life - Is it a Dog's Life?

My kid started working last week and he was so enthusiastic and happy that finally he got to work in a place that he wanted to be. There was so much to tell over the first few days that he can hardly catch his breath! After the first few days, reality sets in and he found out that those other friends who are working there as well managed to get the department that they wanted to be placed in and while he has to be given specific duties by the HR Manager on his daily duties.

Well, its good for him to know that influence do play a part in your everyday life and whom you know is also equally important in certain matters and it does make a difference in very competitive situations. I am happy for him for the "working" atmosphere that he would get from this experience and he would be so much more street-smart in the future.

You know what. Even when he is now working he is still asking for allowance for his breakfast monies! At the rate he is spending, I dont think there would be much left when he receives his pay check. Anyway, I am happy for him and for his enthusiasm shown in his work and I sincerely hope he gets the results that he wanted so as to further his career in his chosen field.

After work, when he comes home, he would rant that it was a tough day and that he was very tired and needs to take a nap to recharge and that other people should understand his feelings about how tough was his work.

Just imagine, I have been working for more than 30 years and I dont have that kind of luxury of time that he is having now. He has been at his job for hardly 2 weeks! I dont know whether he knows how tough I have gone through; screwed upside down, snaked, sucked, cheated, conned, bashed, cried, broke, etc, etc.
